The Islip Animal Shelter is conveniently located south of Sunrise Highway - between Brentwood Road & Saxon Avenue - in Bay Shore. Currently, the Shelter- a municipal shelter- is home to dozens of loving, adorable dogs and cats. We accommodate stray, sick, or injured dogs & cats, and vigorously attempt to locate their rightful owners.

Using all means at our disposal, every effort is made to locate the animal’s owner.  If such can’t be found after five days, we offer the animal for adoption.  Not only are all of our animals spayed/neutered, they are all current on their vaccinations as well.
